West Virginia University, located in Morgantown, West Virginia is the stomping ground for the countries top mountaineer fans. The upper echelon of fan stardom here is an annual chance to be crowned WVU's official mascot, The Mountaineer.

For those interested in becoming the official Mountaineer, it's no easy task.

Mountaineer Mascot Requirements

Current University of West Virginia student.
Students have to have at least a 2.5 GPA.
Submit an essay about why you want to be the Mountaineer.
Endure a grueling Interview by the Mountain Honorary.
Achieve the most cheers during a home basketball game.

West Virgina University Dress Code

Die-hard fans must be dressed in tailor made buckskin suits, racoon caps, and adorn zealous hunting beards
Fans must be wearing prominent WV gear consisting of; shirts, pants, keychains, ipod, iphone, or itouch cases.
All fanheld beer has to be kept cozy in an official team jersey.
Laptops must be seated safely in a WVU approved "laptop messenger bag."
You should never have to be told to wear blue and gold.
